The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (B.O.T) at Maurya Group of Institutions is a highly specialized, four-and-a-half-year professional undergraduate degree focused on helping individuals overcome physical, mental, developmental, or emotional challenges to lead independent lives.

While physiotherapy focuses specifically on movement mechanics, occupational therapy uses customized everyday activities (“occupations”) to rehabilitate individuals. The goal is to help patients return to their jobs, manage their homes, and participate fully in daily life after a stroke, injury, or developmental diagnosis.

The curriculum covers a broad range of medical, psychological, and rehabilitative subjects. Students study anatomy, physiology, and neurosciences, alongside major courses in developmental psychology, clinical psychiatry, orthopedics, and pediatric conditions. Specialized modules focus on sensory integration therapy (essential for children with Autism and ADHD), neuro-rehabilitation for adults, ergonomic workspace design, assistive technology, and the fabrication of custom splints and orthotic supports.

Students learn to evaluate home and work environments, identifying modifications that remove physical barriers to independence.

Through intensive clinical residencies and community-based field projects, Maurya students gain hands-on experience helping patients rebuild their lives. Graduates are prepared for career opportunities in mental health facilities, special education centers, industrial rehabilitation units, and global healthcare organizations.
